3/8/11. Yeah if you noticed this is my own Wedding. After 5 years of courting the Lovely Laura Beth Keedy, we made it official in Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. We had such an amazing time and met a bunch of wonderful people. The chapel we got married in even sent out a live web cast, so everyone who was not able to attend go to see everything via the web. What a wonderful thing it is to be alive in 2011. The Reception was amazing. We walked up and down the strip and had a band and a DJ. Remember anything worth doing, is worth doing right.

6/12/10. Tonight was Liz and Joey Wedding Reception at the Hoover Country Club. This was the third ethic wedding in a month for me. After doing and Indian and Puerto Rican wedding, tonight it was Middle Eastern. Another night with a CD full of song I don't know and words I don't understand but, another fire burning dance floor night. Liz and joey are really a cute couple and after calming Liz down few times during our Pre-Event Meeting, she was ready to let go and leave to professionals to do their jobs. (side note: I hate using the word "Professional". If someone has to tell you they are professional, they are not.) The party was off the "(insert cliche here)". People danced and sang all night. We even had a special guest sing the Italian version of "Lazy Mary". Good Stuff. I even got to work with Gretchen and Buddy of Gretchen B. Photography. Congrats Liz and Joey. Have fun in St. Lucia.

6/5/10. Tonight I headed over to Vizzini Farms Winery for Jeremy and Megan's Wedding Reception. Right before the ceremony started the rain came down in full force for about 5 minutes and then the skies were clear for the rest of the evening. This meant that everything was suppose to happen with no problems, and there weren't. Jeremy and Megan had guest from all over. New York, California, NC and even Puerto Rico. This means there was a lot of diversity in music selections. Everything from Reggae to rock to country and of course Latin. Everyone was burning up the dance floor all night. And, thanks to the rain it was so humid that I even had to come out of my Monkey suit. Awesome party! Great People and a Wonderful Time.

Magic City Brew Fest

6/4/10. Tonight I grab the Cool Shots Photo Booth and headed down to the Annual Magic City Brew Fest. This event was a ton a fun and not just because of all the free food and beer. The Great people at the Good People Brewing Company had us giving out great keep-sake photo's for everyone who tried their beer. This was really a mad house for all 3 hour of the event. We even had to have security make everyone leave after the Event was over. What a Rager! Thanks Good People and party on Magic City.

Bryan / Freeman Reception

5/29/10. Tonight was Bryan and Miranda's Wedding and Reception. This was my first time at Our Lady of The Valley in Pelham. This venue is amazing. As soon as walked in I had to walk out to the van and get more lights because there were so many awesome lighting possibilities in this room. Accented I'm sure by the wonderful photography of Jim Little Photography. Anyways, this was a great Wedding Reception. They had a very lively bunch and I got to play some songs I usually would at a reception(good Techno Set). Congrats David and Miranda. Thanks for letting me be a part of your very special day.

Samantha's Sweet 16

5/28/10. Tonight I was off to the Wynfrey for Samantha's Super Sweet 16 party. Samantha was one of the most polite, well spoken, out going teenagers I have ever met. I can see why her parents went through so much trouble to throw her an amazing sweet 16 party. I was there, of course, to keep everyone dancing and having a great time along with the Cool Shots Photo Booth. This was a great party. I had just as much fun as everyone who attended. Congrats Sam! Thanks for having me.

Wade / Luhar Wedding Reception

5/22/10. Today was Jessica and Rushi's wedding and reception. She's from Alabama, he's from India and they both live in London. That can make it very difficult planning a wedding. It's a good thing they employed the services of ace wedding planner Jackie Gaut of Dana's Floral Design & Weddings. This outdoor wedding took place at The Elms in Coosada, AL. I had to play a little of everything being that there were guest from all around the world attending. Thanks to Jessica and Rushi for suppling me with some music that had our multi-cultural crowd jumping all night long.

UConn New Years Eve Party

12/31/09. Tonight was New Years Eve. The biggest drinking day of the year, or what I like to call Amateur Night. With that said I DJ'd one kick butt non-alcoholic party, as I got to ring in the New Year with University of Connecticut's Marching Band. The group had just gotten into town for the PapaJohns.com Bowl at Legion Field. For a bunch of non-drinking (I think) band kids they really knew how to throw down. We even got ring in the New Year twice because they wanted to do it EST. Go figure. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful time guys. Go Huskies!

9/26/09. Tonight I was back at the Fabulous Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, AL for Amy and Tim's wedding reception. Amy and Tim are both Lawyers and one of the funniest couple I have got to work with. The reception started jumping as soon as Tim and Amy made their entrances. But Amy dad, Mr. Scott, was the life of the party. He stayed out on the dance floor all night with Amy and Tim. I even had to play the Stanky Legg for Mr. Scott. Apparently it's his ring tone. All in all I have another great party under my belt.

Spain Park High School Homecoming

9/25/09. Tonight was Spain Park's Homecoming. I did this show last year, and it was no where near the amount of excitement that it was this year. I think there was at least twice as many kids there this year, and they stayed all night long. The Homecoming Queen even stayed til the end. But these kids are awesome and I love getting to do their Prom and Homecomings. They have fun, they scream, they sing, they dance and all in all just get wild. Rock On Jags! Congrats for the win on the field and at the dance.

9/19/09. I know what your thinking. How can you have a homecoming if you're home schooled? Truth is I don't know either, but this was one great group of kids. They had a lot of fun all night long, which goes to show you that some things just can't be taught in school. Like how to have a good time. I had a great time, the kids had a great time and so did their parents. I will definitely be doing this again next year.

Children's Miracle Network @ Macy's

9/15/09. This afternoon I grabbed my DJ equipment and head back over to Macy's for a charity event for the Children's Miracle Network. They are trying to raise awareness for their new project. Apparently they are encouraging people to have dinner parties to raise money for the network which Macy's will then match. How super nice of them. Hope all goes well. There are many people in need now-a-days, especially with the holidays creeping in.

9/12/09. Today was a very special day. Not only was it Emily and Josh's wedding, but it was also my birthday. I usually never work on my birthday but this year I made and exception. The main reason being well, Emily requested me, and I have never been to Louisiana. Oh yeah, I failed to mention that this wedding was 6 hours away. Now after this wedding I have been to 46 different states. Anyway, we had a great time. Emily and Josh were a wonderful couple and their friends and family came to party. They even ordered the Cool Shots Photobooth. They danced and sang and took pictures all night. We even put together the best instant photobooth wedding album to date. They took so many pictures that we ran out of room in the book for all of them. If you're looking for something new and exciting at your reception you should really consider the Cool Shots Photobooth. Congratulations Josh and Emily. Thanks for everything, including the birthday cake you guys got me. That was awesome.

9/5/09. Tonight was the first day of college football and Noah and Alicia's wedding reception. Having your wedding in the fall in Alabama can be tragic if not planned well. In Alabama, fall weddings are optional because football is way more important. The next three months will set the mood of the entire state for the whole year. So, in order to combat this, Noah and Alicia did the right thing and had a TV with the game on. If this is not a part of your vision for your wedding reception then you need to get married in the off season. I did a wedding last year during the Alabama / Georgia game and only 40 out of 150 guest showed up. It's not that there friends and family didn't want to be there, It's just easier to send a gift and stay at home to watch the game. Anyway, we had a wonderful time. I got to play music that I like. Phish, Panic, Grateful Dead, moe. Which is the music they wanted. This was the first wedding where I got to bust out a Mike's Groove and a Tweezer Reprise. Fun, fun, fun. Also, the Feel The Beat Light Design made the conference center at the Carraway-Davie House look phenomenal. Thanks Noah and Alicia for letting me be a part of your special day. I hope you guys have fun in Greece. Also thanks to Randi Funderburg for refering me.

Tailgate Party - Galleria Woods

9/4/09. This afternoon I grabbed the Feel The Beat Cash Machine and headed over to Hoover for the Galleria Woods assisted living communities 2009 Tailgating Kick-off. Everyone was encouraged to wear the favorite colleges colors to the barbecue. I was joined by the Hoover High School Band and Cheerleaders who were there to help bring out the football festivities. They did a few numbers and routines followed by Cash Machine, where we gave a lucky resident some money off of there rent and an associate a paid day off. Fun, Fun, Fun was had by all and now I'm officially ready for some football. I NEED MORE COWBELL!!!

8/30/09. Today was the years biggest Bridal Show at the BJCC. Feel The Beat was there along side the Cool Shots Photobooth to help future brides get some knowledge on the wedding business. There was an amazing turn out and all in all an awesome show. Many of the cities most reputable vendors were there and as always the best fashion show in the state. Hope all your planning goes well.

8/29/09. After leaving Macy's I headed over to the Historic Rucker Place for Emily and Jason's Wedding Reception. These kids were awesome and spared no expense to make sure their friends and family had a great time. They had an awesome buffet complete with shrimp and grits, plus they had a full bar to help loosen everybody up and head out to the dance floor. This party was jumping from the beginning and just when I thought it couldn't get anymore fun... they busted out the double dutch. oh yeah. This was a crazy game of poker. Thanks Jason and Emily. Family Fun Day @ Macy's

8/29/09. This morning I hauled my equipment up to the third floor of Macy's for Family Fun Day. This event was to help kick-off college football for Alabama fans. The Alabama cheerleaders and of coarse Big Al were there to perform and for a few photo opportunities. There were clowns doing face painting and balloon animals, the Hoover police department was also there taking finger prints of kids and the good people at Fuse were handing out free drinks. They had a great turn out, a lot of fun and I got my picture with Big Al.

Game Show Mania - Coosa Valley Medical Center

8/28/09. This afternoon I brought the game show back out and took it to B&A Warehouse for a lunch time show for the Coosa Valley Medical Center. We played about 6 rounds of Jeopardy and everyone in the room got to play. I couldn't have payed for a better audience. This folks loved the game show and stayed interactive the whole time, helping each other, shouting answers and laughing at those who needed laughing at. This was a real fun event and I'm glad our new salesperson Lindsey Mason was there to take pictures for me.

Fall Carnival - Liberty Park Middle School

8/27/09. This afternoon Scott and headed over to Liberty Park Middle School for their fall carnival. I was the DJ and Scott ran the Cool Shots Photobooth. The teachers and staff at Liberty Park set up many different activities for the kids like face painting, putting, frisbee toss and others. But the real deal was the music. These kids were party animals. They did everything I wanted them to do. They even did the Limbo. That's right, the limbo. Day-O. This was just the first of 4 event I will be doing for them this year. This is gonna be fun.

Game Show Mania - Town Village

8/25/09. This afternoon I packed up the game show and took it to Hoover for a special double event for the Town Village assisted living community. We did one show in the morning for the residence and another in the evening for the staff. The older folks loved all the categories about the 1940's and 50's and the staff had lots of fun with some of my more current questions about 80's fashion and SEC football. All was great and went well. I'll be back.

Eric Chamber's 50th B-Day

8/22/09. Today I drove back to Mississippi for Eric Chamber's 50th B-Day party. Mary Grace Chambers arranged for the party to be at their house which was taylor made to throw partys. They have a huge back patio area complete with pool, wrap around bar, custom sitting areas and a fire pit. Wow! This was one great party. These kinds of events are always my favorites. Everyone who showed had a great time and danced the night away. I was really glad to be a part of this special event. Happy Birthday Eric. Sorry no pictures. I really wished I had my camera.

Maintenance Mania! 2009

8/18/09. Tonight I headed for the capital city of Montgomery for Maintenance Mania! I did this event last year for the Apartment Association and they had me back again this year. I know what you're thinking. What is maintenance mania? Well, the best way to describe it would be the Handyman Olympics. Handymen from all over the state gather each year to compete in events like ceiling fan repair, refrigerator repair, door knob changing, a custom race car event, and of coarse the Karaoke Idol award. I even tried my hand at a couple of events and found out that if this DJ thing doesn't work out... I'm becoming a handyman. That right you heard me... Watch out guys I'm coming for your belts. Again, thanks to the National Apartment Association for letting me be a part of such a fun event.

8/15/09. Tonight it was back to Mountain View Gardens and Ballroom for Julie and Benny's Wedding Reception. This was only a two hour reception so I had to pack a lot of excitement into one big wham bam thank you maam. But even with time restraints we had a fun party celebrating Julie and Benny. They even ordered the Cool Shots Photobooth to add some extra fun. The guest really loved the show and the photobooth, so to sum up this event.... Success. Congrats Julie and Benny. Lauren & Caroline's B-Day Party?

8/14/09. Tonight I made my way to Mt. Laurel for Lauren and Caroline's B-Day party. I did this party last year and it was so wild that these kids almost busted through the floor. Seriously! This year, the kids were a year older and a little too cool to dance at the party. They are at that age where they want to socialize and are afraid that if they dance someone will laugh at them. The parents seemed to be a little disappointed at first but , after the party was over the kids said that they had a great time. They might not have danced all that much but they did bide their time by playing a game of duck duck goose. Yeah, i said it. That was definitely a first for me. They also bounced around a couple of blow-up animals. Anyway, I still have faith in these kids. They do know how to party. I've seen it. They'll come back around soon enough and rejoin the ranks of the Briarwood ragers.

8/8/09. Tonight it was back to the American Village barn for Katie and Doug's Wedding Reception. This was one reception I wish I could do every weekend. Doug and Katie have some of the coolest friends and family, plus one of the best wedding parties I have dealt with. From the customized introductions until the very last note of Brad Paisley's "Then" they stayed on the dance floor. They wanted to party and I gave it to them. Thanks Doug and Katie for such a wonderful time and congratulations. You guys are just so cute.

Corner High School 10 Year Reunion

8/7/09. Tonight both JPoe and I were at the B&A Warehouse for a couple of class reunions. I was in the glass room for the Corner High School class of 1999 reunion. This was a very fun party and wild party. I even got to meet up with an old friend. This party was right up my alley since I graduated in '98. The music was easy and these folks wanted to get crunk (I don't like that word cause I'm not sure of it's meaning) Click Here for the urban dictionary definition. 8/5/09. It's the beginning of another great month at Papa Saia's in Alabaster. This event is an absolute joy to do every week. Even though I feel that karaoke is the lowest form of DJing, the folks at Papa Saia's always make me wanna come back. If you like singing (good or bad) this is the place to be on Wednesdays. Great people and great beer specials make this an event you'll want to put on your calender.

Riley & Rachel's B-Day Party

8/4/09. Tonight was a Tuesday and also Rachel and Riley's B-Day Party. I love going to the Riverchase Country Club for any event. The staff is absolute wonderful and the guests are always A+. Tonight was no exception. These kids partied hard all night. So much that I had to stay an extra hour and a half. Happy Birthday Girls. Rock On!

Josh & Mandy's Wedding Party

8/1/09. Tonight was a very laid back wedding party for Josh & Mandy at the Carrington Lakes Club House in Trussville. They didn't want all the bells and whistles that come with a Feel The Beat DJ but they were still in need of some entertainment. I played a lot of 80's type music until the alcohol kicked in. Then the lights went off and the dancing began. They even ordered the karaoke package which also went over very well. Hope all the best for you guys. Sorrry no pics.

7/30/09. Tonight I moved on over to the Sheraton in Birmingham for Karaoke at Casey's Sports Bar and Grille. This was the second time Feel The Beat has done this event, and I hope to do it again soon. These people were ready to go once I walked in the door. There were lots of good people and good singers too. Oh yeah, I think the drinks were flowing freeing too (which is an added plus when doing karaoke).

7/25/09. Tonight I hauled all my equipment up to the 32nd floor of the Harbert Center for Nate and Karen's reception at the Summit Club. These kids have an awesome story. They have known each other for over 10 years and have been dating for about 18 months. Nate even told me that he has been waiting to marry this girl for 10 years now. Anyway the party was great, everyone had a good time and stars fell on Alabama. I even did the Feel The Beat Lighting design in 2 rooms. Congrats Karen and Nate. Have fun in Mexico. Arriba!

Pool Party - The Grande at the Galleria

7/25/09. This morning I grabbed the Feel The Beat Cash Machine and head over towards the Galleria. Today's party was at The Grande at the Galleria in Hoover. The staff was holding a lease renewal party and every resident who renewed their lease or folks starting a lease got to get inside the Feel The Beat Cash Machine. They gave away over a thousand dollars off of next month's rent and fed everyone as well. Also, the pary went so well that they even kept me and hour and half over time.

Pool Party - Highland Bluffs

7/24/09. This afternoon I made my triumphant return to Highland Bluffs to do their pool party. I did this event last which was organized by an outside source but they liked my work so much that they had to have me back on their own dime. Joy and the staff at Highland Bluffs really stepped it up a notch this year. I think they had 3 times the turnout of last years event. They even had some prizes to give away too. This was a very enjoyable event. It's nice when people seem genuinely happy for me to be there. Thanks Joy and everybody at Highland Bluffs for giving me such a wonderful experience again.

Daniel & Ford's Birthday Party

7/23/09. Tonight my services were need at the Bluff Park Community Center in Hoover for Daniel and Ford's birthday bash. This is the 3rd time I've got to perfom for these kids. This gig came of a referral from LaTanya Dobbs (thanks LaTanya). The kids had a great time and I think Daniel and Ford got some money out of the whole deal, so all in all this party was a success.

7/18/09. Tonight it was back to the Sonnett House in Leeds for Lauren and Casey's wedding reception. I can tell that they spared no expense with this holy union. They had musicians for every aspect of the ceremony. They hired the Wynfrey's catering staff and of coarse they hired me. After the ceremony it took about an hour and a half to do their introductions. Since they hired a wedding planner I was not able to do my job to its fullest potential. I really do not like it when someone else is in charge of my show. When things drag and don't go as planned it looks like I had something to do with it, or I am unprofessional or something like that. But anyway, the guest had a great time. Lauren and Casey left 45 minutes before the event was over and so did the wedding planner. After that, the remaining guest and I had one heck of a throw down. It's just sad that Lauren and Casey couldn't have been there for it. But that wasn't my fault. I was just doing what I was told.

Pool Party - Barrington On The Green

7/18/09. This morning I packed up my gear and went down to Barrington On The Greem in B'Ham. Very relaxed type of pool party. They supplied their residents with 30 Pizzas unlimited soda and a keg of beer. Oh yeah, they also gave me 20 prizes to give away from squirt guns to $50 gift cards. But the real kicker was that they gave away a free months rent to a lucky resident. And Jason was our winner. Congrats Jason.

Tommy Fancher's Birthday Party

7/16/09. Tonight I did the country lane stroll over to Wilsonville, AL for Tommy Fancher's birthday party. Tommy is a seasoned war vet who served under the President. So when it was time to throw him a birthday party, the entertainment should be nothing less than Feel The Beat. Tommy's sister, Della was the one who organized this party. She put together one heck of a get together. From the navy theme to the food to the entertainment. we also honored and recognized all of the war vets that were present from all branches of the military. This was very cool because I got to see and meet some of the great men who served our country in the Korean and Vietnam wars. These were the men that helped to give us all the freedoms that we still enjoy today. The whole evening was topped off with a giant sparkler display that lit up the night sky, all to the tune of "God Bless America." Happy Birthday Papa Tom. We salute you.

Larry and Carol Martin's 50th Anniversary

7/11/09. Tonight I added a new state to my performance list. The almost great state of Mississippi. This was my first time to Ackerman and what a better occasion than for Larry and Carol's 50th wedding anniversary? They incorporated a 50's theme for this party and did it right. From the food to the 1959 Ford Fairlane. I only hope that one day I might get to celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary, I just have to get married and live at least 50 more years. Well, who knows what with the advancements in medical science. Anyway Super Congratulations to you Larry and Carol. You are an inspiration to us all.

6/27/09. After my pool party I got a quick haircut and headed over to Flower Stem in Birmingham for Heather and Ben's wedding reception. I have known Heather and Ben for a couple of months. They come almost every Wednesday to Papa Saia's for Karaoke. Even the last couple of weeks I have hung out with them and their families until 2:00 a.m., so I knew that this was going to be one wild wedding reception. Oh yeah, They did not disappoint. This was probably the most fun I ever had at a reception (and that says a lot because I've had some amazing times at receptions). It was action packed from start to finish. Everybody danced all night long and had a great time. They even ordered the Cool Shots Photobooth to add a little extra fun for their guests and Heather and Ben left with the best wedding scrap book to date. Not only that we were lucky enough to have a very special guest show up, Elvis! These people dance, sang, cheered and screamed all night long. Seriously, They even went through 35 cases, that's right cases of coors light and 72 bottles of wine. This was one hell of a party and I'm glad that I got to be a part of this. Congrats Heather and Ben. Have fun in St. Lucia, you guys rock!

Pool Party: Colonial Vilage in Trussville

6/27/09. This morning I grabbed the Feel The Beat cash machine and north to Trussville for the Colonial Villages Pool Party. This was another great morning to give away lots of ash and prizes. First f all pool parties are fun, but when you ad the spectacle of the cash machine the party takes on a whole new dimension. Everyone wants a chance to win money off of their rent. We had about 9 people get in and we gave away over $700 off of next months rent. I am always happy to help anybody win some extra cash. They also gave me enough prizes that I had to give one away every 2 minutes. Needless to say, there were a lot of happy residents here at the Colonial Village. Congrats everyone and we'll see you guys next year.

6/26/09. This afternoon I had the privledge to throw a party for the good people at the Linc Point Center in Birmingham. Most of the guests today are living with Cerebral Palsy but that did not slow any of them down. They started dancing from the first note of Billie Jean (which they requested). Oh yeah, I might as well get this out of the way, R.I.P. Michael Jackson. Anyway, this was a very special event that touched me and the audience as well. I even had a couple of guest DJs. 6/20/09. Tonight was another wonderful trip out to the fabulous Wynfrey hotel. This evening I got to entertain the families of Jennifer and Matt Moses. This really was a story book wedding. They went all out from the food to the decorations, to the entertainment(of coarse). They even ordered the Feel The Beat lighting design which really made this room pop. The crowd was very receptive and eager to have a good time. They got out on the floor and danced they night away with Jennifer and Matt. Thanks for the great time kids. 6/20/09. This afternoon I made my way over towards the Summit to the apartments at Crowne at Grandeview. One of the best parts about the summer is pool parties. Where else do you get to hang out at the pool, look at cute girls and give away tons of cash and prizes? Any way, the folks at CAGV gave me 40 gift certificates to give away ranging from Ben and Jerry's, Barons & Movie Tickets, Outback, Applebee's etc. etc. In addition to that, they ordered the cash machine to give some their residents a chance to win some money off of their rent. We had a total of 6 residents get in and we gave away over $600 in rent coupons. Right On!!!

Lauren & Ryan's Rehearsal Dinner

6/19/09. Tonight I headed down to Park Lane in Mountain Brook for Lauren and Ryan's rehearsal dinner. Ryan's mother, Kim Barnett hired us for the entertainment for their 80 guests. On tonight's menu: Ribeye and Game Show Mania. After a delicious dinner we pitted the bridesmaids against the groomsmen for a trivia showdown. Since the Jeopardy game was personalized about the lives of Lauren & Ryan, we were going to find out who knows who better. The bridesmaids started out strong taking a quick 160 point lead. Then groomsmen managed to come back from negative numbers to make it a game, but it was just too little too late as the bridesmaids coasted to an easy victory. After that the guys tried for a little redemption by testing out their sports trivia against each other. Everyone seemed to have a great time all night. Even when the Game Show was over we busted out the electric slide, cupid shuffle and the cha-cha thanks to the wonderful staff at Kathy G and Co.

6/5/09. Tonight was a fun filled evening as I headed over to the Mary Phelps Center in Tuscaloosa for Lynn and Cavin's rehearsal dinner. They wanted to have all the fun so they ordered some Game Show Mania with a side of Karaoke. This was one of they liveliest bunches to every play the game show. The game was close until the very last question in which the groomsmen took the lead and the win with the correct answer to final jeopardy. 5/22/09. After my early morning bubble party I made my way back east to Leeds, AL for Ashley Bishop and Miles Dutton's wedding reception. We were worried all night that it was going to rain. It looked like rain, it was forecasted to rain and it sprinkled for a second so we planned for rain. Of coarse when this happens you know it's not going to rain and it didn't, but I did get my first opportunity to use the new chapel at the Sonnet House. 5/22/09. This morning I had to wake up early and make it to Tuscaloosa for a 9:00 a.m. start for Capital Preschool's end of year bubble party. I did this event last year for a bunch of high energy 3 to 5 year old kids and this year was about the same. These parties can be fun because kids have more of a no-fear policy than adults do. Tonight was Stephen and Brooks birthday party and I was there to entertain. I booked this gig with LaTanya (one of my Papa Saia's Karaoke regulars) over a month ago and tonight was the big night. It was a combination of a birthday party and an end of the school year party so we had a lot of wild & crazy kids there. They got down all night and probably could have gone another hour or two. At first it seemed as if I couldn't get these people moving but all it took was good hour with the free beer and the dance floor opened right up. 5/08/09. Another prom season is in the books. Tonight was the season finale with E-Rock and I at the fabulous Wynfrey Hotel for Fairfield Prepatory High School's Prom. It seemed to take a while for everyone to show up and even longer to get everyone dancing but once they did, They didn't stop. This was definitely the "crunkest" (if that is a word) prom we have done all season long. I turned the reigns over to E-Rock for the music and I handled the video production. We even had a special guest DJ and Fairfield Alum, Chris Coleman from Kiss 98.7 FM to announce the senior lead-out. All in all it was a great show and we had a great time wrapping up the 2009 prom season.

Billingsley High School Prom

5/2/09. Tonight I headed south to Montgomery for Billingsley High School's Prom. This is the second year I have done Billingsley's Prom so I had an idea of what to expect(or so I thought). Like last year, this year's prom was held at Maxwell Air Force Base so security was tough. So tough that I almost didn't make it on the base. After about 10 minutes at the gate pleading with officers that I was suppose to be there, they let me in. The officer who let me in said "There will be a lot of upset kids if he doesn't get in here." What a true statement. This year I went all out on the sound and lighting design. We made that place look better than it ever has. Plus, the kids had a great time and so did the the teachers and mostly, Me of coarse. I had a little camera trouble so I will be hunting for photos, so until then just imagine the most kick-butt lighting and high energy dancing you can. Cheers!

Hayden Elementary School Dance

5/1/09. This morning I got up and headed North to Hayden, Alabama for Hayden Elementary Schools end of year dance. This was only a 2 hour event but by the time this event was over, both the kids and I were covered in sweat. "Everybody Dance NOW!!" It takes a lot of energy to entertain 3rd and 4th graders for 5 minutes let alone 2 hours. These were awesome and their song knowledge baffled me. I didn't even know this much about music when I was their age. Rock on kids, See you next year!

GSM - UAB Southeastern Conference

4/30/09. Tonight E-rock and I headed over to the fabulous Wynfrey hotel to run the entertainment for one of UAB's corporate events. This year was Alabama's turn to host the Southeastern Conference so who did they call when they had to entertain over 200 of their VIP's and corporate representatives?? Feel The Beat, that's who. We tailor made four games of "Jeopardy" relating to the south east and gave away a multitude of prizes and money playing "Let's Make A Deal". Everybody had a blast and we got some very nice compliments. Needless to say we will be back next time UAB has a function where they need important people entertained. Thanks to Pat Jenkins and they wonderful staff at the Wynfrey for making us feel at home again and again.

4/25/09. Tonight was Courtney and Paul Winegar's Wedding Reception at the Sonnet House in Leeds, AL. This was one amazing party. I always love playing the Sonnet House because I get to use a big beautiful white house as a backdrop for an elegant light show. This always creates a lot of high energy moments all grouped together with a touch of class. Tonight was no exception. I'm not sure if Courtney or her father Charles were the life of the party. The danced and kept everyone going literally all night long. The dance floor stayed packed as made my way through the years and genres I knew would keep everyone moving. The reason being because these are always filled with friends and family coming together to celebrate the life of another person, which usually leads to a throw down. 4/23/09. Tonight I shot on down to Park Lane in Mt. Brook's English Village to do Mt. Brook Junior High's 9th grade end of year bash. This year they did a travel theme to represent the kids moving on to high school. There was a lot of energy in this place tonight as we had about 150 kids getting down. 4/18/09. Tonight E.Rock and I headed an hour south to Alexander City and Benjamin Russell High School for another Prom installment for this season. Tonight we set up our light show and two screens for this bad boy. In fact they wanted the works, including the confetti cannon. We had a lot of fun entertaining these kids. It also helped when the school gave us $1000 in cash to give away! This is one the proms I get to do that makes me jealous of these kids today. Rock on! Go Wildcats!

4/10/09. Tonight we were a little closer to home as E.Rock and I scooted on down to SoHo for Spain Parks Prom. The school had rented out all of Rosewood hall for 600 students to get down in. We went all out on the lighting and uplighting just so this prom would be one to remember. These kids were very receptive to everything I told them to do and they got down all night. We pretty much had to run them out of their at 11:00. It was great to be working with the good people at Rosewood Hall again and it was also great to perform yet again for Spain Park (Check out the Video). Go Jags!

4/9/9. Tonight J.Poe and I headed 2 hours north to Guin, AL for Marion County High Schools Prom. This was a very small school with only about 30 students in attendance, but no matter. Spanish Fort High School Prom

4/4/09. Today it was back down south 4 hours to the Fairhope Civic Center again, but this week was Spanish Fort's Prom. Today I was all by myself to do the load in, setup, break down and load out. It's a huge undertaking but one I can do all by my lonesome. This week we did screens and video, so I had to do all the grunt work, DJ, run the video switcher and video tape. That's a lot for just one guy, but I handled it superbly. The kids had a great time, I had a great time, the teachers had a great time. 3/27/09. Tonight it was off to Jim N' Nick BBQ for Joana and Stephen's rehearsal dinner. There was a lot of energy in the room as both sides of the family were there to have fun. After dinner we pit the bridesmaids against the groomsmen in a classic who knowswho better match. The groomsmen won by 10 points. This was a close one. After which we played a few extra rounds so that everyone could unleash their competitive spirit. Congrats Joana and Stephen.

3/21/09. Today I took the short 5 minute drive to the Gardendale Civic Center for Matt and Katie's wedding reception. Matt and and Katie are a wonderful couple with a lot of loving supportive people around them. These kids had a real good time from start to finish and left the next morning for St. Lucia. Jan Hall's 50th Birthday Party

3/20/09. Tonight I was off to Brookwood, AL (which sounds alot closer than it is) for Jan Hall's very special 50th Birthday party. Jan was one of the sweetest people who has surrounded herself with an excellent loving cast of characters. The party started off a little slow but after a couple of hours of an open bar the gloves came off and the gauntlet was thrown down. I was suppose to stop playing at 10:30 but these folks wouldn't let me leave until after 12:00. Rock on Brookwood! Happy Birthday Jan!

3/14/09. Tonight was Monica and Eric Moses wedding reception. I traveled all the way to Anniston Country Club for this magical evening. Eric and Monica have been together for over 8 years and finally tied the proverbial knot today. The setup inside the country club was amazing. The decorations along with the Feel The Beat lighting design really set the room off. It made for some really good pictures. An addition, all of their guests were into the moment and music all night. They even kept me 30 minutes overtime. Great party and Congratulations Eric and Monica.

Mary Wills Sweet 16

3/07/09. Tonight it was off to Truss Vegas for Mary Wills' sweet 16 birthday party. It took place at Carrington Lakes Club House which was a really nice place to have a party. Everytime I have gotten to perform for these kids I have always had a good time and likewise I'm sure. I got to bring some new lighting effects with me tonight, which we're really cool and I snagged some video from it, so enjoy.

John and Katie's Rehearsal Dinner

3/6/9. Tonight was John and Katie's rehearsal dinner and they called upon Feel The Beat to deliver the entertainment goods. On the menu tonight... Steak, shrimp and Game Show Mania. We developed a game board based upon John and Katie's relationship together and put the bridesmaids against the groomsmen. The bridesmaids took off to a commanding lead until the groomsmen named "Goose" took the podium. The men ended up doubling the bridesmaids points and getting the final answer to secure a win. Congrats Guys and Congrats Cali and Katie!

2/27/09. Today I drove north to Huntsville for another installment of Game Show Mania. Today I was featured at Brookdale Place Jones Farms. This is a retirement community so I had to do a lot of research on the 1940's and 50's just to make sure I could design enough game boards to accomidate a much older audience. Everything went fantasticly well. We played 4 rounds of championship "Jeopardy" and a few rounds of "Let's Make A Deal". We gave away a lot of prizes and crowned the first Brookdale Game Show Maniac: Cal! Congratulations Cal and look forward to seeing you guys in April.

2/26/09 - After 15 months at Papa Saia's tonight would be a night to remember because, this was our final night for GSM here. With all the regulars battling it out for one last chance at the belt this game would prove to be interesting. In another shocker for GSM, Desmond who has never won a qualifying stepped up and not only won her round, but won the Gold. Congrats Desmond and thank you to everyone at Papa Saia's for such a wonderful run.

Michael & Kristen's Wedding Party

2/14/09. Today was Valentine's Day and what better day to have a wedding party? Michael and Kristen were married in January but waited til today to celebrate with their friends and family. Everybody had a great time and the staff at Ross Bridge made everybody feel like royalty. This party was interesting to say the least. I think this is the first and probably only wedding party where I played "Championship Pop Bottles" and "Stanky Legg". Congrats Michael and Kristen!

Helena Middle School Dance

2/13/09. Today was Friday the 13th and tomorrow is Valentine's Day, so We threw a "crazy love" party at Helena Middle School. This was the first dance the school has had since they opened this year. The kids were awesome and did everything I told them to do. They danced, they sang and they ran around like crazy people. This was another awesome show for Feel The Beat and hopefully the beginning of a great relationship with Helena Middle. Go Panthers!!!

Game Show Mania - Papa Saia's

2/12/09. After leaving Montevallo Middle School I had to shoot on over to Papa Saia's for Thursday night Game Show. This was a special night because it was Maggie's 50th Birthday. She won her usual round with 910 points, then let Sugar play for her in the finals. Sugar scored 800 points in the final to take home the gold. Congrats Sugar and Happy Birthday Maggie.

Montevallo Middle School Dance

2/12/09. This afternoon was Feel The Beat's first time doing one of Montevallo Middle School's dances. The kids hit the dance floor from the first note I played of "Let It Rock". The student's seemed to have a great time and next time they have a dance, Feel The Beat will be there. Rock on kids!

Game Show Mania - Papa Saia's

2/05/09. We had a great night at Papa Saia's last Thursday. You couldn't have scripted a better tournament. After trailing the majority of the first round Sue Ellen came from behind and won her first round of Game Show Mania ever. Then in the second round Maggie did her usual and coasted her way to another championship round. Then in the third round, Wally answered the final question correctly to secure the final spot in the championship. With all three of our contestants set, the championship round was under way. It all came down to final Jeopardy. The question: This is the number of U.S. states that begin with the letter "M". Maggie and Wally say "5" and Sue Ellen said "8". With Eight being the correct answer Sue Ellen wins her first Game Show Mania championship. Congrats Swells and thanks to everyone at Papa Saia's for a great show.

02/04/09. Last night was the first night of Karaoke at Papa Saia's in Alabaster. To my surprise it went a lot better than I had first imagined. People were lined up ready to sing before I could even plug in my system. This is going to turn out to be a really good regular Gig to do. So, if you're in the area of the Alabaster on Wednesday nights and you love to sing Karaoke, Papa Saia's is the place to go. Good People and $1 drink specials, Need I say more?

1/30/09. Another awesome show for the Feel The Beat guys. We were at the Marriott 280 this Friday to do Game Show Mania for the good people at ADTRAV. We did a few rounds of "Let's Make A Deal" and four rounds of championship "Jeopardy". The crowd was awesome. they stayed into it the whole night. During "Let's Make A Deal" a few of the ADTRAV ladies even tried to bargain for our "Guy with the box", Justin. I know now to never ask to see a tattoo again. It was a wild night to say the least. 1/31/09. We had an amazing time this weekend at the Sylacauga Country Club. I want to thank the staff for making me feel right at home and preparing an awesome spread. Erin and Russell are a beautiful couple and I am glad I got to be a part of their very special day. Their friends and family packed the dance floor all night long and almost wouldn't let me leave. Here's what Erin had to say about my services:

"Joe was amazing! Everyone thought he did an excellent job. He ran things efficiently kept everyone entertained and made us feel like we were his old friends. We would definitely hire him again!!!
